I am checking out this kit and am not sure if this is a good deal. I wonder if it is a Phaser Power kit? It has a Pearl head but the seller confirmed it is a ludwig kit with a black and white badge. Any help is very welcome. Thanks!

Hello, and welcome.

I would say, keep looking. The price is a little high.

If you want vintage Ludwigs, look for the keystone badges from the 60s. Blue olive badges from the 70s, 80s. The cymbals pictured are entry level Zildjians.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but the old looking cymbal that's up side down might be a good one. Also I don't see any snare drum, or bass drum pedal.

Thanks for that input. He says he has a second snare that is a Slingerland so maybe I will check that out and the non sheet bronze looking cymbal.

Take Care,

Lisa

the "non sheet" cymbal appears to be a Zildjian earth ride in raw finish! Swoon

Should be 20", heavy as hell, and sound awesomely dry.

You'd need some pics of the insides of the shells to get a better idea of what they are. Pointy corner b/o badges? Earlier 70s. thin shells with re-rings, or 6 ply maple shells? They look like gold sparkle in the pics. Probably not a bad buy if the shells are in good shape. Wonder what size the toms are...maybe it was a double bass kit...worth checking out

Am I missing something here? The lugs on that bass look like Standard lugs. My eyes are aged and I don't have my specs on, but they sure look that way to me.

I think they look like standard lugs also! I would wait and get B/O or older badge set for that kind of money!

If the set has black and white badge's with lug's that look like Ludwig standard lug's price in high for the set.But if the stand has black and silver badge's that say standard on them then Yes 500.00 for the set is a good price...Hard to tell by the photo's on the lug's...Mikey
