Just had a Bonham moment Last viewed: 9 hours ago

There's something about "Trampled Underfoot" that I really really dig! That driving, straight foward, powerful playing (but still not over playing), is just great.

I would say Good Times Bad Times, Trampled Underfoot, When the Levee Breaks, and Ten Years Gone are my top favorites!

I really like the groove of Fool in the Rain, but Ive never really liked the song that much.....

"Nobody's fault but mine" is sheer bliss.... Kashmir,When the levee breaks, are my favs for just the beat and the groove and for how big it sounds... my all time favorite to play is" Rock and Roll" and "Black Dog" I mean if you are going to rock then get the F--K on with it and Rock!

No Quarter......

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Since I've Been Loving You, has always been fused in my brain since I first heard it. Live version of Mistral Wind by Heart always reminds me of Bonham...I love Mike Derosier !

True story ...

I purchased four tickets to see Heart WAY back in the day. I had two in front and two in the lower balcony right above Michael Derosier. I would sit with my date at the front and enjoy the opening onslaught that was early Heart. Then, I went up and around to my other seats to watch Derosier tear it up. I could see his feet and hands perfectly. It was amazing!

My date was not enthused about having to share the attention of a drummer. It was my first clue that I should be VERY careful when selecting a wife. I ended up choosing wisely ... my sweetie gave up her dining room for my kit before we ever tied the knot.

Loved Derosier.

Mike Derosier was/is a pretty great drummer. I always loved playing "Barracuda" and the drum sound on that track is a great North American version of the Bonham sound.

I was at a club in the late 80's early 90's to see a Canadian band Alias...Mike Derosier was the drummer for this band. Although I wasn't into their music at all, I did enjoy watching Derosier. I was at one end of the stage on a small balcony that was less than 10 feet from Derosier...on the other end of the stage, on the other balcony, was a drummer for a local band here in my city, giving Derosier the...'I'm not worthy bow Bowing...needless to say the local drummers name is Brent Fitz who now plays with Slash as well as many others.

Someone mentioned "since i been loving you." This may seem strange (I promise im not OCD), but if you listen really close, you can hear a little bit of a squeaking noise from what sounds like his bass drum pedal. The best thing about that is that it shows the rawness of the track! Now days, everything is so polished in production... hearing that just gives that track so much more character, IMO.

That tune is famous for the sound of the Squeek King pedal.I remember hearing "Good Times,Bad Times" in 69 when the first Zep album came out.In NY City on WNEW FM.Scott Muney was the DJ and played the entire album with no commercial breaks.I went out the next day and bought the album, and proceded to wear it out.
