Thanks for the kind words FFR428! That was the first gig I've played those drums.

I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to bring them out that night the bass drum heads hadn't come in... but drum gods were looking out for me and they came in that day. :)

I put them on and tensioned them up. I never tuned/tensions a single rod drum. Hooked of the bass drum pedel... and WOW!!! Bowing

This is going to work!! To the gig we go!! My first vintage drum experience went very well. :)

I agree, it is most likely a regular Bass Drum. I have come across a few Slingerland marching drums from that time period and many of them had single tension style tuning and not beaver tail lugs. Not saying that they didn't make them like that but that has been the majority of what I have seen.
