From olderdrummer

I also worked @ ROGERS, Dayton, OH as QC tester & tuner of Dynasonic snare drums untill they relocated to Fullerton, CA.

Can I say that I'm jealous of this work experience? I'm with Ploughman, can't wait to hear some Rogers info from an employee.

Welcome to the forum

From Ludzil

Hi, I've been a member of this forum for a few years now under the name Ludzil. I tried posting a couple times but would not accept. I had to re register like a new member. Would a membership be deleted if not enough postings are made? Anyways, here I'am again. As from my name you have probably guessed I love and own vintage Ludwig drums and Zildjian cymbals. Been playing drums since about age 9 or 10 and been in many different bands over the years playing rock and roll. Nice to be a member again.

Good to have you posting with us again, I've never heard of there being a limit to the post or the time duration of such? but anyway another ludwig lover here I love zildjians also but Paiste are my go to cymbal.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Thanks to ALL you fellow drummers who made me feel so welcomed! I am a 1-finger typist & very slow @ computer stuff, so please accept my appologies on posting responses. I'd like to talk to each of you individually, but I'm sure my wife would be even more upset w/me for taking all that time at my slow pace! Violin

I am also comforted to know there are other "Geezers" on here who keep the interst alive! Cool I'll try to check in here 'cause I really dig this place!

Thanks, again!

When I tuned & inspected snare drums @ Rogers drum Co. in 1968 it was per instructions of Roy Burns,- research & development Specialist, CBS drummer (Merv Griffin show) & Benny Goodman's drummer (Chicago Worlds Fair). I was referred to the job by my teacher & mentor, the late Jimmy Green & a mutual friend, who also worked there, Bill Davids.

I have only 1 Dynasonic snare-drum (chrome shell) which I still use. I did get to use the facilities after hours to re-cover & re-bevel my personal set at that time (an older Gretsch kit, that I wish I still owned)

It was a great job and I was sorry when it left Dayton. I hadn't worked there long enough to be offered the position @ the relocation in Fullerton.

Oh my... The Rogers guys will be dizzy just from reading your posts!

Very pleased to meet you, and welcome to the forum, from another old geezer.

If you need help learning how to navigate the thing or post pictures (you will get bugged until you do) just ask. Someone will give you lessons.

Question: Now that the word "vintage" is synonymous with "expensive", does that mean I'm worth a lot more now because I'm "vintage"?? Happy Holidays to all!
