Here's my MONSTER snare Last viewed: 2 days ago

I purchased my Fibes Drums in 1973 (from the owner of Fibes...Bobby Grosso)

I believe he started the company in the mid 60s in New Jersey...mine are all fibreglass; originally in the all chrome finish, but after polishing the chrome for 6 years, i stripped it all off, recovered them with white marine pearl and changed to Pearl heavy duty tom tom holders....my 5 piece set was called the "Forte" set

I play in an 18 piece jazz-dance big band, and my Fibes are loud enough that i never had to "mic" them...when we play at outdoor concerts, the sound-men feel that they have to mic my drums, but it's not neccessary, and they have to turn "my" mics way down so i don't overpower the rest of the band..incidentally, i've also used Zildjian cymbals since 1953 and you see even though i'm 77 years old,. i'm still playing

Love that Corder you have slingerland. I have a couple of similar ones that I like as well. (This gives me a cheap chance to show them off for first time)

Hope the pics don`t offend. I do love my 8x14 better with the DC top hoop.

The other Corder is a red maple 6x14 that I may have to part out to use on my Fibes COF strainer.
