NO NO NO, If it didnt come with one from the factory when it was made, use a cymbal stand, I wouldn't ever take a drill to such a nice vintage set! But thats just one opinion...

Does anyone know for certain if the H & B 14x22 Enduro or Enduro Pro will fit my 14x22 Ludwig? I'm concerned about the rail on the drum. The drums arrive on Friday and I leave for tour 8 days later! I should really special order my case ahead of the drum arriving, but want to make sure it will fit!! I guess I am wondering how high off of the drum the rail gets. Looks like two inches. Hope that'll fit!! Greatlly appreciate all the assistance!

There should be plenty of room. I have a big ol' Modular mount on the top of mine and the wingnut sticks up about 2", I have no trouble fitting drums in my cases.
The only thing you have to worry about is if you use a RIMS mount, then you need to move up an inch in diameter, otherwise the H&B stuff is great. I was just at the factory Monday...

My slinger lands use a rail mount. No prob fitting in the h&b case.
I use skb's... for my 14x20, the 16x20 case is fine. Do what another member said. Put either a pillow on top or whatever else you want in there. It isn't that big of a deal. The best part is the stacking capability of SKB's. They lock right into each other. They are great.
