Mid-season recap ...
This first post was straightforward with my tongue removed from my cheek. No offenses to be found.
They don't go for much (comparatively speaking), so you might want to check eBay completed auctions and get an idea of the current going rate. Sorry to hear of your loss. Replacement rates will most assuredly depress you.
This second post has one serious sentence in it. I've bolded it.
The rest is a stream of conscious diatribe ala Firesign Theater. i.e. Humor
Unless the flood waters washed the hardware away, I figured this was just a shell pack inquiry. However, if the flood waters had a high salinity, then I could see replacement. Also, if the flood waters contained any sort of chemical waste runoff, that would require replacent. Oh, and what if there were large squid that latched onto the stands and bent them beyond recognition! That would be wicked! Hey, what about those huge ship props. Those can do serious damage if they run over a stand. There was a large fish that swallowed Jonah when he refused to go to Ninevah. That was wild. You don't live near Palistine, do you? CRABS!!! Dude, some of those can snap your finger clean off! I saw these Metal Munching Moon Men on Rocky and Bullwinkle. Those guys had it bad for steel. Whatever happened to that Pierce Brosnan guy anyway? So, that should get your VCR up and running. If you have any more difficulty, just ask. That's what we're here for.
The third post was correcting Leedybdp. He had stated that I was doubtful of the OPs sincerity. Not true at all.
... note the first confirmation that there be humor in these waters ... arrrrr
I honestly wasn't intimating anything. I was just being goofy and unpredictable. It's a stream of consciousness comedic pause for the cause. Nothing more.
The fourth post was responding to Leedybdp ... and reminding the readers that we do joke around here.
Ain't nothing but a thang. It's what we do. We laugh. We learn. We educate. We laugh. ... and sometimes, we laugh.
At this point, I'm still not seeing any offensive posts. If you can identify them, I'd certainly be interested in it.
Now, my fifth post was in response to the suggestion of a full out DW kit.
Here's the original OPs statement:
My insurance policy states "replacement costs" for lost non-salvageable items.Any ideas on a "modern day" comparable drum set, including hardware?
REPLACEMENT COSTS was the operative statement.
A Big R Rogers runs about 500 on average. You put in a suggested replacement kit of about four to five grand.
Sorry, but that was just flat out funny to me.
I know what you meant. I understand you were suggesting that Rogers were great and DW is great ... but Seriously ... Think about it. How freekin funny is it?
Insurance Company doesn't know jack about drums. The damaged kit can be replaced for under a grand any day of the week. But, LOOPHOLE allows a ridiculously expensive drum kit to be built as a replacement. Net gain = 3500 or so.
If you don't see the humor there, check your pulse. That's outstanding.
So, you feel there was all sorts of ...
Dude, every post youve made on this thread has rude, offensive, and condescending. Get over yourself.
Every post? Really? Rude? Offensive?
Sorry ... I don't see it.
I think if you give these posts an honest look, you'll see the heart behind the words.
