I was told this is a Gretsch tom, does anyone know the approximate year? I refinished it myself. it has 2 inch piece of wood around the inside rims.

Hi Tommy, it's definitely not Gretsch. There's a chance it's Slingerland, but based on the diamond plate I'd say it's an Asian made knockoff of Slingerland. Do you have any photos of the interior?
Thanks,
Bill
That's a nice color .... what did you use ?
Thanks
Kev
Tommy, it looks, from the little I can see, like one of the many MIJ, made in Japan, Slingerland copies. If you would be so kind to shoot the interior, I can tell for sure, and also the "2" piece of wood on the interior" is called a reinforcement ring, or re-ring. If you can show some good pix I can tell for sure.

Here's some pics of the inside, and one of a close up of the lugs
another pic of the inside thru the bottom head.
Thanks, Kevin I used a stain/poly combo, in Honey Pine, then a few coats of spray Poly
close up of the lugs and the mount.
I thnik you guys are probbably right about it being a Slingerland cop from Japan, *Just for the record*THIS PIC IS NOT MINE* I found this pic online, after the fact of the color I chose! I think the color is pretty damn close.
Tommy, it is definitely a Slingerland copy, made in MIA, MIJ
