It's a 20" bass drum on the set..In the 60's most all M.I.J. sets had 20" bass drums..To fine a set with a 18" bass drum is hard to do....Mikey

Mikey: There was one ( a Whitehall 4 pc red sparkle set with an 18" BD) down in Corona CA, a couple of months ago...The guy was asking only $150.00 for the set. I just couldnt make it down there soon enough...

I agree with what most are saying but.....it does look like an 18" because if you look at the snare and floor tom and they're most likely 14" and you see how big they are compared to the bass drum and look how big the hat pedal looks to the bass drum....my guess is it just may be an 18 incher.

The height of the three legs on the hat stand where they all meet is 14"....move it back a little the distance it is away from the front of the bass drum and....I'm guessing it's an 18" but yes, you're right...tough call. Darn it....ask the seller to measure it!

No Mikey. I didnt. I already have a Whitehall and the 404s are not my cup of tea...The Slingy hardware sweetens the deal but I dont really need the set...If you need a set with a 18" bd let me know cause I have a Fyberglass Hollywood (the one that we discussed about like a year ago) and it has 18" bass drum and 12" concert tom...Very rare set. Red sparkle. Its reads Made in USA on the badge...It has Gretsch lugs! Im puzzled with the set. Ill trade it or whatever...
