Lat thanks for the kind words. I've owned these drums for three years. I have YouTube clips to prove it.

Josh - I've been playing for almost 50 years, so the compliment comes from another drummer; That is some tasty, rock-solid drumming on that You Tube cut. I -FEEL- you brother!

Drummer to drummer...

Making all the hits is one thing, lots of drummers can do that, but what separates the men from the boys, (and I don't mean a crowbar,) is being able to take something simple and make swing really hard. Great feel in your playing and your drums compliment the tune perfectly. I love it when the drummer drives the band/the music, from behind. It's something I strive for when I play. But brother, you're a powerhouse! On that cut, the drums push the music, add a great heavy, driving feel to it. I got a kick out you riding the bell after that chorus from Bromburg. It's such a classy/hip musical choice. Dude, when a drummer can make a 'simple groove' sound so awesome, he's a man worthy of praise and respect from other drummers.

I bow at the waist, and tip my hat to you. The highest compliment this old drummer can give you is; Man... you can really play! Great feel.

John

Ditto for me Purdie Shuffle. I,ve been listening to those blues tunes for the past hour and enjoyed the music, great sound with the whole band not overpowering the tunes and sharing each others talent.

The Sax player reminded me of our Sax man. He bought a new sax but hated it and used it as a backup to his old Sax, which he loved, but the instrument needed new felts and springs. So he replaced the springs with these tiny rubber bands and didn,t refelt it at all. This lead to rubber bands flying all over the place when we were playing wide open and him scrambling to get his new Sax to finish the song. As he was one of the best Sax players we knew of always on time and as long as he was on the old Sax (if the rubber bands held he was happy) he really got into the tunes we played. When he had to play the new Sax he had the worst look on his face, I can see it now after all these years.

Wow, that is awful nice of you. Thanks so much for your kind words John. I am truly blessed to be able to live my dreams every time I sit behind a kit. All my favorite drummers are groove and feel drummers. I'm always trying to play as if I was in the audience listening. Please checkout more clips from David's shows on YouTube.

Peace

Oh man, Tom, I'm in-between bands right now and you're making me pine. Up until 6 months ago I was subbing in a local (working) Blues band. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Harp and Sax and a female vocalist. I'm telling you, it was so much fun playing with those old-phart pro's, that I would have paid -them- to do it! When the old drummer came back, I almost cried. There is no dope in the world that can make you feel as good as when you get to play good music with kick-ass musicians who know how to play. You made me miss the band... BTW, if you want to hear them, enter: Dave Mell Blues Band into the Search box at You Tube. Great band, ton of fun to play with.

Josh - You got it coming, kid. I'm speaking my thoughts and feelings about you as a musician. Respect...

Purdie Shuffle: That was the key to our band, rock solid timeing with great riffs and blues played to an audience that was tuned in to the music. I,am getting high just thinking about the old band.

Sorry about changing the thread topic Drummer84 but you are rock solid with your drumming and the way the band is so relaxed brought back a lot of memories, so thanks to you, from a really old drummer.
