My first kit was blue sparkle, no name, (MIJ), no hat, one mounted tom, one crappy cymbal. It was like the best thing that ever happened to me. That was in 1971 and drums are still my favorite thing.
Drums sets Last viewed: 17 hours ago
That 4 pc Gretsch set sounds a LOT like the 3 pc set I mentioned above... you don't happen to have any pictures of it, do you? Somewhere I've got a pic or two of me & mine the day I brought it home...
Bill,
I know there existed just one picture of that set; one my sister took of me playing it with my long hair and blacklight posters behind me. Now you've got me wanting to find that photo just out of nostolgia.
The guy that bought the set from me just ending up selling the single pieces, so I'm sure it no longer exists as a full set.

Mike,
I found two pictures of me playing my Gretsch set in our living room the day I bought them and brought them home. I've got to pull them out of an album and scan them, then I'll post them on this thread. I've got another one, also, but it's more of me than it is the drums. Hey, and no long hair for me 'cause my dad wouldn't allow it! (Until I was out of the nest.)
I've also located two pics that have my Ludwig Rock Duo in it. Neither of them is a complete set-up, however... somewhere, some-how there has got to be more pictures of that set. Will try to locate some of my old band members.
My Pearl 78 set is in this thread: http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=27162
The basic set is there plus the additions...
