Gloveless here too.....tapeless too...seen guys do that, tape up their hands...strange. Also I don't use grip tape or gorilla snot or whatever else they call it on my sticks. Gimme a pair of 5A's for rock gigs, Vater Sweet Rides for the quieter gigs and I'm all set. Nothing else needed....Cool1

Gloves? Why? Are the sticks dirty?

Yea... I tried gloves.... eh eh. I switched to Gorilla Snot. I know, I know.... I should work on my grip, but that stuff really made my life easier. That's a discussion for another day. Unfortunately, they no longer make it. After a long search I came across StickierThanSnot.com. LOL

I broke down and bought it. Way better than the gooey stuff. Made the world of difference. I can now loosen my grip and the sticks stay. It's allowing me to think less about my grip and get into the music more. My playing is much better now because I'm more relaxed.

I tried them for a while about 10 years ago. After they dried out and split, I didn't replace them. Don't think I'd feel right wearing them now.

I'm no guru, just a vintage drum junkie!

No way, Jose'. I go to fingers when I need speed, gloves are too clumsy and cut off my 'touch' with the stick. Light grip, good control at the fulcrum, and especially finger manipulation of the stick is out the window with gloves.

John - All about 'touch'...

Too many great drums to list here!

Gloves are for shovelling snow, not drumming!

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.
