Hey just because I'm Slingerland doesn't mean I know everthing, I had seen many 80's sling badges with no serial number so I sermized that was the case with this drum. I'm also learning how ebay works, I assumed with no bids on the drum, I could bid at the last minute and maybe get it, I also PM'd the seller saying I had no need for the case ( as I have 7 already) would they take an offer on the drum itself, they said they would consider it if the drum did not sell. Obviously someone knew the drums value more than I, and did the buy it now too bad, I would have loved to have it. live and learn. G

With eBay and this economy, anything goes. If you want it, make an offer for all, most sellers might take it. Most sellers that don't know drums and such are just interested in the money. I have found that with a situation like this or as in any other auctions with multiple items, it's best to take the whole lot if you can get it for what the seller wants or a lesser offer, sell the items you don't want and keep the rest. In this case, keep the snare, sell the case, stand and books.

It is a nice looking snare, and it has straight hoops (which could be COB) with clips and as Mark mentioned earlier, the early version of the rapid strainer. All of these items look original, this is probably a student Radio King. The calf head on the bottom, case, sticks and books add up to make it a very good deal.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
