tell me what you think about the claim the seller says is a 1958 model, looking at the badge it looks like an 80's to me. no serial #

Looks like it might be right, I thought it was a black/silver badge, but closer look appears to be gold/black, now its looking pretty tempting......

Looks like a 56 to 59 with the "curly S" black and brass Chicago badge.

No serials until 60 or so, according to Dr. Wenk's Badge section in the Slingerland Drum Guide.

The drum is exactly as advertised! Also, check out the early version of the Rapid strainer, which is correct for the late 50's!

With a name like Slingerland, this should be a no brainer.

There is nothing in that post that is even close to a giveaway that the drum isn't from the 50s or early 60s.
