Easy big fella! First off, I was unaware until now, that the Webmaster had made this particular request, and secondly, I was just relating my own personal experience for the record. I hadn't realized that there was an issue with Photobucket pics, though I was aware that ebay, and CL type pics are only posted for a limited time. I was not dismissing anything, and I always take off my 'frigging shoes'....

not for computer idiots like me!! I didn't use ebay for years because posting pictures took waaaaaaaaay toooooo long, then the posting got easy but the site got greedy, so now I'm here and I just spent hours getting pictures up and I have to use photobucket because that's what my so very helpful wife showed me. And the pictures are HUGE!! I'd prefer a reduced size but hell, I'm just happy to get pictures up there so I'm happy....for now. I imagine if I find this site helpful in moving some drums out of this house I'll take the time to learn what I need to know to do things right...but it ain't "simple" for some of us!

I understand, being without the best computer knowledge and skills myself, but after a couple of attempts at uploading pics, it will become almost send nature.

My reason for agreeing with the reason for posting this topic is the frustration of opening photobucket or another link and not finding the subject that was supposedly being linked. Not that it happens all the time, but enough that I wouldn't bother clicking on the link.

A thumbnail of an uploaded pic in a post.......well, that's so much more inviting and easier for the reader.

Well... okay. :) One question though; Photobucket has two options - one to post a link, and another that places a nice size photo directly on the page, bypassing any thumbnail, etc. As I'm relatively new to the game, do you know whether, if the source photo is moved, or removed, will that in turn cancel the image as posted on this forum? I do agree that it's frustrating when a posted photo disappears.

Once you upload your picture to this site, it's here. Posting a link in your spiel has the same problems mentioned earlier. The picture may be there today, but tomorrow... who knows. It would be best to get the picture on 'your' computer, then upload it here. If you have to resize it, there are gobs of free software available to do so. I've used 'VuePrint' since it was released nearly 20 years ago. It's now free, and works great. Don't like it? No prob... Tons of others.

How about if you post to other forums? It means you have to post the pictures 2 or 3 times. I recently changed layouts on Photobucket so I probably have some images missing. When I get time I go through the old posts and fix them. But since I take most of my pictures now on my phone, I have to use a server that I can get them on to in the shortest possible time. Unfortunate, but that's how it is at the moment until I win Lotto.
