Here are the silver sparkles after tweaking. They were apparently rewrapped but whoever did it did it well; everything is nice and tight, although he remounted the floor tom leg brackets upside down. Steve Schmit of Riverside, California, fixed that and cut some new edges.

I haven't played these yet with the band, but they sounded mighty fine during this photo shoot at the beach (couldn't resist).

The original spurs are missing along with the original adjustment screws for the spurs and floor tom legs. One of those is holding the 12" tom in place instead of a screw that takes a drum key. The replacements are functional enough for playing, which is my primary concern, but if anyone has parts, I'm listening.

You have some great looking sets there. I just took my '71 Slings out for a joyride over the weekend for the first time in a while and man do they sound great!! I only use them when I know I'll be playing on a solid stage. It must be a joy to be able to say to yourself "hmm, what color should I use tonight?" Great stuff you got there. If you need legs they are easy enough to make. I made a set for myself and posted pics somewhere on this site. I think in the restoration section. I have the originals but the ones I made hold the BD in place much better with the lethal points I put on them. I wish I had some spare parts to throw your way.

Thanks!

While the silver sparkle kit is missing some original parts, it's still completely playable. Their first gig will probably happen in March. I'm looking forward to seeing them under lights.

Latest addition acquired in February augmented by a 6.5" wood snare from member "Slingerland." Debuted at a July 4 jam/party. Held its own unmiced against a wall of amps. Best song played: Joe Cocker arrangement of "The Letter" with two saxes got people up and moving.

Best sounding drums on the planet. Nice everyone!

Thought I might see a red, white and blue Slingy on the 4th but no such luck.
