It's not, but I bought it for display purposes and if I ever want to set two of these up for double drumming. Thanks again, it was a seamless transaction.

I have to admit that the walnut is growing on me, but I've only had one chance to play it, so it's not completely dialed in.

Such sticklers: 93% Slingerland. But 100% Chicago.

Ha, haaaa! True, true.

Yes, very nice kits! I have a set of those walnuts myself and man I love um! I will never sell that kit! When it is all over for me , my son will be playing the heck out of them. Again yours are really nice.

As promised, more photos. First, the blackromes.

Up close, it's clear that this is a very fragile finish. I keep them in cases and handle them with gloves, but my best efforts can only go so far. I doubt the original owner cased them, and this is about the condition in which I received them. Rust shows through a bit on the back of the floor tom, and that's the worst of it.

Most people, however, aren't going to get this close to them, and they still look fantastic from 20 feet away.

As promised, more photos. Here are the walnuts.

Again, up close, some of the damage that occurred over the course of 40+ years is visible. Still, Steve Schmit did a wonderful refinishing job. The drums were a much darker brown when I left them with him. I should have taken a "before" photo, but I didn't own a camera then.

It's amazing how light these are compared to the blackromes.

I've only gigged these twice, but they've elicited several compliments from bandmates and audience members. Many of them are guitarists who apparently appreciate fine woodwork, because several of those folks had no comments about my other kits.

(The first time I rehearsed with the blackromes, it took my band about 90 minutes to realize that I wasn't using red Yamahas ... the singer first commented that she was hearing something new, but couldn't put her finger on what was different. She didn't mean that as a lesson, but I learned then how women feel when a new hairdo goes unnoticed!)

The walnuts win, hands down! Love the look. (Okay, okay. I'm biased.)

Whoops, I did it again ... in silver sparkle. Needs some tweaking and a few small parts. Here's a sample, better photos to come when the work is done.

Nice.. They'll rival the walnuts.. Especially under lights..

I think you may have been "ripped off" if they are your baseball bat mufflers though..

Cheers
