'73 Walberg & Auge Red Sparkle!! Last viewed: 2 days ago

Loading...

Here is my 1973 Red sparkle Walberg & Auge kit. This thing is in pretty cherry condition. 22x14, 13x9, 14x10, 14x16 FT w/ matching 14x6 snare. All six ply Jasper shells with Gretsch silver sealer, Gretsch Lugs, Ludwig rims, Ludwig throw and Ludwig FT leg brackets. A really cool kit! All the shells are dated and signed in pencil inside as they should be. This is basically a Gretsch kit with ludwig rims and W&A badges.

Willing to sell it if anyone is a W&A fan :)

Very nice!

I love seeing these drums.

Somehow that brand oozes Vintage coolness with me like almost no other kit brand.

Congratulations

Curious ... Gretsch has always been possessive about their specific shell layups and held the builders to an exclusivity bit. Jasper made lots of different shells for others. My guess is these are not Gretsh layups, but a nice Jasper build. Am I correct? Am I missing something in my conclusions? I am only using facts from the Gretsch books and such. I've no real experience with W&A kits. Hence, the curiosity.

Also, is that red glass or glitter?

My understanding is that these are Gretsch shells and were trade outs for W&A product. Help2

A beauty for sure. Always fun to see fellow W&A player's kits. Original rail conselette? Which badges, Worcester or Auburn? Cool1

Indeed! 73 might be on of the last years. Should be Auburn badges.

Very cool! Stick to Gretsch parts and you should be fine.

Here is the thread on 20-30's W&A kit I restored.
