in that era they are most likely mahogany/poplar/mahogany if they are wrapped. but with ludwig, anything is possible.

Thanks guys!! In the meantime, I've been using a 1964 Slingerland Deluxe Student Model in Sparkling Silver Pearl (basically the same as the 6 lug Pioneer). What would you go with? Thanks again!!
I have an acro with my '65/'66 Club Dates, and it sounds fantastic. How does that Slingy sound?
Hi everyone! I just found a late 1965 Pioneer snare in Sparkling Silver with nickel that's pristine... my Club Dates are now complete! I'm trying to find all matching/period correct hardware to go with my set. All I seem to come across is chrome... no nickel. Any suggestions are certainly welcome!
Happy Holidays!!

nickel stands are very hard to come by. I'm guessin' most of these kits came with chrome stands, regardless of the finish in the drums. Can anyone confirm this?.....marko
Interesting... I'm really into the hardware with the rubber button feet. Great looking stuff!
Nice set of Clubbies there!
You sure won't regret taking the time cleaning those up. I concur with jonnistix on the rubbing compound for the chrome. Works perfect!
I just picked up this kit down the road last week in original black laquer...maple side up for the paint :)
vintagemore, Is that the original gold paint on that bass?
Club dates are cool little sets. I think you will have a blast with that little wmp gem. Here is my 1971 mod orange clubdate. Unfortunately by 1971 the standard snare was an acro. I would have loved to have gotten a mod orange pioneer with this!
