Hi,
I have a 1965 Roger's Dynosonic 7 Line COB snare.
the drum has some history and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would affect the value.
This snare belonged to my grandfather Denny Benson. This exact snare is the same snare that he used to record "time won't let me" and the entire album with the Outsiders. The Outsiders drummer left the band right before they began the album. My grandfather took his place and recorded the album with them. After the big success of their hit song "time won't let me". The original drummer wanted back in.
Long story short, the band tried to kick my grandfather out and ended up in a huge dispute (I have news papers and articles to prove all this) when the album came out...to get back at my grandfather they changed his name from Denny to Benny on the album cover. If you look at the original album, the dynosonic Rogers is on the cover. Along with a Gretsch drum set. I also have that very drum set sitting in my basement.
When Denny passed away my family was given all his instruments. I also have his vintage k. Zildjian cymbals. And a 1940s Deagan marimba.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
