I wasn't aware they ever came without. At least that explains that. Hopefully there is a stamp inside one of the shell to help indicate a year.

As it happens, I have a set of 14" 6 hole snare hoops. Top and bottom. So if you decide to go with the 6 lugs, I can help you in the hoop department.
