I just bought an old Leedy and Ludwig snare and I'm looking for snares for it. They're the kind that extend over the edge on each side. I tried the Puresound vintage snares but they're just a bit too long. Any ideas?

Which Puresounds did you get? also I don't use the extended ones I use the regular one the Custom snare wires, here's a pic of my leedy Broadway standard with them Installed!

That's pretty well the same snare I have. So it works fine without the extended snares? Is there a difference in sound if you just bypass the rollers on the strainer side and butt side altogether?

No problem ask away, Cool these leedy and leedy ludwigs or conn era drums are tops, Mine is a solid shell model is yours? I like the standard snare wires better than the extended ones the extended sound not as musical to me the standard wires do, In fact it is my favorite wood snare drum, and I own 30's Radio kings, wfl's, gretsch, this leedy has no equal, just get a pair of Puresound custom wires 16 strand or 24 strand you'll be all smiles.

Cool. I just bought some custom 16 strand Puresounds so it should be happening! Mine is a solid shell too. I'll post some pix when I get it put back together. Thanks again for the info.
