Nice site. Spot on for the most part, even might be considered a great deal on some, like the Gretsch kit. But, he may be little ambitious on that Yamaha kit. I haven't seen any of the vintage kits sell for more than $750-900, anywhere. I know they are hard to come by in that condition and configuration, but that seems a tad high, even for a vintage retailer. The Willow wraps are the most common on those late 60s-early 70s kits, and blue the most common. This is just my opinion, based on my own research over the past year, since vintage Yamaha kits have come into vogue. I would love to see some of the higher quality kits get some better play in the vintage drum marketplace, but it just hasn't happened, yet. In the vintage drum world, they are still lumped by most people, unfairly, with the rest of the MIJ gear. :2Cents:

I'm pretty sure that Jim priced the Yammies so that they'd stay in his collection, judging by the jam session photos elsewhere on the site.

Some really nice vintage Rogers. Snare seems right on w/price. But a few of his sets are pretty high from what I've seen. They are real nice, no doubt.
I bought a Slingerland Super GK Radio King from Jim a few months back. Love the drum and would definitely buy from Jim again. Very nice guy with some great old drums.

Well since he has a Camco section I clicked on it. The snare drum featured for sale is chrome over brass (COB) not steel as he states. The trapezoid strainer as he calls it is the Tuxedo strainer and it was used during the first couple of years of production, so it's a fairly rare strainer. It was gone by the time the second Camco catalog was introduced. Also those hoops aren't your typical triple flanged hoops. They are COB as well and are a thing of beauty. The tone control appears to not be original but hard to tell in the photo. Nice drum but a tad on the high side.

I see Exports on C/L for all kinda crazy money. 250 all the way up to, sit down please, 2500....And that is with the gorgeous white pvc wrap. They are, for some reason, getting high priced kits on there all the time. The pricing hike on Exports is new. I noticed it just in the last few months What is driving this spike for non-descript drums? Far too many of them in existance to justify, and they aren't that special. Look st the TAMA kits, much better drums, and they are not seeing this spike, at least not for the low end Imperialstar or RockStar kits, comparable to Exports. They are still averaging around 400.

Be carful guys thats my pearl kit on there (as stated in my original post) One thing that does set this kit apart is the fact it has STEEL outer chrome plated wrap, I don't think any drum Co. has made steel wrap for years, you can drop these drums from a 2 story buiding and not damage them, rock solid. I will be taking offers on the set, its been my practice set and did some recording with them..............
