Could be either. In late 1968, the drums would likely have transitioned to the clear maple interiors and round rotary dial mufflers. In early 1968, the interiors could be painted white and have BB mufflers. It was a year of transition and you might see drums with a bit of both traits.

agreed. total transition period. if i had to pick one, i'd go with resacote and bbat. but either way would be correct.
