hello... i have a question... i understand that gretsch snares has 2 different lugs...

one i normal lugs (i think distance between holes center to center is around 2-1/4 or 2-1/8),

but what is distance between holes for gretsch mini lugs, for snare that is 14x4, 14x4.5?

i think that they are g5471 lugs...

can someone help me with this?

thanks

I have a Max Roach snare, I can measure the lugs if that is what you are looking for.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Have patience asking for information, as the Gretsch snares you are talking about are very rare in those sizes. In fact I wasn't aware a 4x14 snare with the mini Gretsch lugs was ever produced (that doesn't mean it wasn't, KCdad or someone could tell you for sure), all of them that I've seen feature the double-sided smaller lugs, so short of consulting a catalog scan, and not having these drums laying around, it may be difficult for you to get an answer.

Being that this is a vintage drum forum and Gretsch has been making drums for 127 years, I'm pretty sure the guys here can come up with more than two lug designs. ;)

can someone help me with this?

If we're talking about an old Gretsch snare, I'm sure there are plenty of guys around here who can help, but you'll probably have to wait more than 90 minutes before asking, "What - nobody knows?!". If you're talking about recent Gretsch drums, in addition to the guys here who might be courteous enough to answer a question about a non-vintage drum, any Gretsch dealer should be able to give you that info.

OK now I understand. Gretsch has 2 types of double-ended lugs, one for the 5" deep snare and one for the 4" (progressive Jazz or Max Roach) snare. You want the hole spacing for both, or just the smaller one?
