I tried to contact via email from thier website... no response.

I emailed about a snare this morning, and they replied about 6 hours later. Pretty good discount, still a bit more than I wanted to pay though.

Which one were you looking at and what was the price if you don't mind me asking?

It would all have to be 50 to 75% off those prices to even be close to the market value at eBay prices.

I inquired about the 4x13 Slingerland silver spkl, price was 20% less than listed.

Thanks deadhead...

I was looking at purchasing the 90th Anniversary Black Beauty. It was listed for $1299.00. I was trying to get a price through the website via the "Contact" feature but didn't get a reply. After I saw that you got a reply so quickly I checked the site again and saw that AOL email account on the home page and got a reply this morning that the drum was sold. :-(

Hop

EDIT:

Just for historical and market value information, I was informed the drum sold for $1140.00

The guy selling this stuff is sketchy at best...

Just tried to buy a Black Beauty from him..

Gave him a price offer..and he agreed to it..as long as he could remove the Art

Gold hoops and clips and screws off of it...and give me repro clips and old beat up hoops instead..but...as it turned out... he didnt have the hoops...

Meanwhile...I tried to get him to actually go over the drum to see if there were any dents etc..that I needed to know about..so he said.. the drum had no flaws like that. And then he sent some far away or out of focus photo closeups so you could not really tell what the real deal was..

When I gave him a counter offer for the now incomplete/partial drum..he suddenly blew a gasket...and threw all kinds of e-mail insults my way..and really from the start of all the initial inquiries..he was sketchy at best..and didnt want to dislose any problems with this 80 year old drum.

Finally he had to admit though that there were dents in it..as they were plain to see in one of the photos..

Funny thing is..I would have paid him very close to what he was asking..even with the dents..but his total lack of disclosure and any kind of salesmanship savvy..totally killed the deal...

No wonder he is flush with unsold drums and going out of business..he probably deserves it...

Buyer beware..

i inquired about the bdp gretch set on the bottom for $1200 and a few snares.

the bass drum had a hole in it. and i said i wouldent pay 1200 for three drums, the biggest of witch had a big hole in it.

he told me that he would throw in a free snare drum, and that the price was still $1200

with the $300 snare the drum set was worth $700 to me so no go. but they look good. mabie someone will love these drums, but for that price its not gonna be me.

old drums are pretty neat!
