Feedback on a Old Ludwig set... Fiberglass? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Sorrry for the not so good pics.. drums over all are not in that bad of shape, gent i got them from said they are about 30 years old. Looking at the inside of the shells they look like fiberglass... the bass drum doesnt have tom mount holes...I think its known as a virgin bass. But again not sure. Doest have the outer lugs or rods etc for the bass drum.. and the bass drum seems to be drilled in a few spots becuase the guy put 3 smaller lugs on it... looks like if larger lugs were back on it, it would cover the holes since newer lugs are smaller. Black/white serial badges, bass drum serial # is 6024652 and the rest are around the same 602**** sequence...but no not the same.

They are sizes 12 13 14 15 mount 16 floor AND 22 BASS DRUM. i measured the 15 a few times since it seemed like an odd size. No snare.

Im just wondering a little about the kit and if its possibly rare etc due to fiberglass and the odd drum size...and guestimate on what its worth. I may keep it I may sell it .. b4 i do anything I would really like some feedback from some of the fine folks over henr.

Cletuss, where have you been??, this is the Rocker 2 series shells from 1984. they didn't sell well for ludwig, so yes they are rare, but that doesn't mean they are valuable or collectable,the inside shell coating is called Lud-Cote finish and is the same shell as the rocker.

Been here there and everywhere..even been late to my last few jobs.. so ive been working on my timing... a little dry drum humor...teehee.

Hmm.. I do play a 6 piece now thats including the snare toms are 10 12 14 16 and 22 bass ...so this ludwig set is or could be in the same configuration as my pearl set i have now.. so i was just pondering wether to keep and definetly would if was a htf kit etc.

Yes it's true that the Rocker 2 sets did not sell very good for Ludwig but they are good sounding drums.I see them all the time for sale 5 and 6 piece sets anywere from 350.00 to 550.00 in the colors of white,red and black,to me they are like the ludwig standards of the 60s-70s drummers did not go to much for them but as i said they are good sets..If you need the lugs for the bass drum i have them if you need them...Mikey

Hmm... not sure that i can afford right at this time but please pm or post me a price or GUESTIMATE mikey..I just may need em in the very near future. There is 11 that i need. odd number I know but looks like he took some lugs off some toms and put on the front of bass drum.
