Slingerland T-Rods and claws. Last viewed: 1 day ago

This is the bass drum to the snare posted earlier. The T-Rods are different.

Which one is the right one for a 68 Slingy. Plus the hoops are non original.

Does any one know of a wrap that would match close enough to replace the chrome? I am in love with this Grey Agate. It's the same kit I had when I was a kid.

Cheers,Ed

The T rod on the left looks like a Gretsch. The one on the right looks like a Slingerland from the '60s, but it is slightly different.

If the drum has a black and silver badge, the correct T rods would be:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1970s-VINTAGE-SLINGERLAND-10-BASS-DRUM-T-RODS-RARE-/170513796319?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item27b36a0cdf

If it's a '60s set, they'd look like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1960s-SLINGERLAND-BASS-DRUM-T-RODS-CLAWS-SET-8-/270608275519?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0182983f

(similar to yours, but the flare under the "T" seems different.

If the set is from around '73 on, the chrome inlays would be correct.

Jammin Sam and other wrap sellers have a black onyx wrap that's a very close match.

Neither one of those tees look like mine.... the claws do....

Here's a pic of the tees on my 60s Slingerland bass drums.

I won't presume to say that one or both of yours is not correct, but they are different.

So...pOOder2 has a new MO....I guess we can post this one so all know who it is...but then again the obnoxiousness of the instant music sort of warns all who enter, if they are paying attention. I guess the other ID was getting outed all too often, so start using this one. And notice, she is not using her location in an effort to trick us poor stupid drummers.....

The one on the right looks MIJish to me. I have a couple that sort of resemble them.

Thanks Fellas!! You guys are good at this stuff!! I have a line on getting 16 T's and washers for a good price.

I'll see how it works out. I was told the one on the left pic is Gretsch and the other is MIJ.The MIJ is close but I think Kevins is right. It is a 60's kit. 67 or 68 I think. I might be needing some tension rods for the toms too. Some were different, not many. I hope to have the kit complete by the weekend.I will post the pics when I am done. This kit has been tampered with, but in a good way if you know what I mean. I really wanted this color wrap. Puts me back in my childhood days.

Thanks,Cheers,Ed

If you REALLY want to be correct, the '60s Slingerland "torpedo" T rods use 2 washers on each one.
