These are Star stencil, maybe even Star. Ant badge info? Yiou can tell by the snare lugs on matching kits, as the Star snare lugs look EXACTLY like Slingerlands. You cannot tell them apart unless you have one lug from each in hand, unmounted. They are that exact. The main difference is visible at the base aound the edges. If you come adross a kit that is immaculate, if you find chrome to be in very good condition, it is almost impossible to tell them apart, to the untrained eye.
Now those cymbals, those are some real joy there....worth almost as much as....a stick of gum. Actually, some of these old MIJ cymbals make for decent effects makers

Good eye, Nick! You might trip over a kit like this one day and finally realize what you have been missing out on, if you find a thin ply kit, that is! Even these thicker ones have a sound all their own. I lost out on the 20, BTW..so now I am back to scouring ebay for them.

You have convinced me in my time here to give them a shot, so if I stumble upon a set I will not turn my nose up at them. And I only knew it was a star because of the lugs being so Slinglerland-esque and that the floor tom brackets WEREN'T so to me it had to be Star lol

The floor tom leg brackets are actually pretty close to the ones on my '56 Slingerlands. What gave it away for me is the mounting plate on the 13" tom. That's definitely MIJ.
Cool looking kit, regardless of where it was built!
Very cool looking kit indeed

There is a monster Pearl kit on the 'burgh's craiglist dude. I think he wanted 650 so offer him 400 and give em a whirl!!! Bunch of cymbals too, by the way.

Hell yeah!! Tell me those don't look fun to play anything by a group that sported spandex clad musicians!! Best part is that when you go to Weirton to pick em up, you can swing by Mountaineer and either hit the tables or play the ponies!!
