WTH?

Theres a guy selling me a very weird Supra that Ive never heard off...

Its a late 80's rounded B/O badge COB 400 Supra with the BR marking behind the

Throw off...now the Bizarre detail is that the Drum has another badge INSIDE the shell WITH its own hole and grommet so the regular badge covers these. Ive never heard about a drum like this.

This Guy claims Jim Catalano at NAMM told him that it may be a custom order but he (Catalano) couldn't recall details...

heres some pixs

Any info from all of you guys to share on this?????

The serial no on the badges are consecutive

Outside badge: 3135521

Inner badge: 3155520

Thanks!!!!

To me, that looks like what gibson guitars would call a factory "second". A funtional, but messed up piece that was sold to an employee at a discount price. I am not sure if Ludwig did this, but it is WAY odd...

Among other things, why does the batter head cover the vent and badge?

Misdrilled?

-64 Ludwig Black Oyster Classic kit 22,13,16
-65 Leedy BDP 22,13,16
-65 Ludwig WMP Clubdate 20,12,14
-66 Ludwig Red sparkle Downbeat
-60's Gretsch RB Green Glass 22,13,16
Lots of cymbals, snares and orphans, old and newish

No,no! Ludwig didn't have this drum at the Namm (sometimes my English gets in the way...) This guy BROUGHT the drum to Ludwigs place at the last NAMM. Catalano told him that it might be a custom order or a "second"(like Olddrums says). Ive have two COB Supras ( A 60's KS and a late 50's Transition badge) and I can recognize a COB and this IS a Ludwig COB. The double badge thing is what puzzles me...

sorry misunderstood, still it's going to be a tough sell for you to flip it, definitely a 2ND, you've got 2 badges, the top rim is covering the vent hole and the tone control holes!! follow your gut on this one!
