Thanks V2

Jeeze Ive been busy as lately stuck under the car (V6 Holden) removing the trans to fix the rear main seals on the motor & good to check in & catch up with you lot.

Im enjoying the Carl Palmer bits, I read somewhere that British Steel made a stainless bass drum for him...any truth in that? Gona change the emperor clears & put coated on, the clears seem pretty sharp & dont seem to have the right doom tone to it.

Still trying to get my aluminium bass hoops done when it happens I guess, I thought you said that S/S kit sold last time on....I love this...."Freebay" for 2 grand, whats the go there?

I woudnt mind scoring a 18" & 15" the 26" I will make, freight from your neck of the woods aint cheap...thats alot of beer $$$ ! I have a jam coming up in a week or two will get some pics & post them.

Cheers Dno

From vintagemore2000

This is not an argument...however, I would have to differ on whether this is an authentic kit. In my understanding of how commisioned work is considered as original or not, look at the Triumphals, they are commisioned, not actually produced by Ludwig. Built in Germany by....oh damn...you know his name...Josh? Anyway, as a commisioned work, I would consider them to be Ludwig, or would you consider the Triumphal NOT Ludwig....?

Hey Vintage. Do the Dunett kits have that reinforcement plate under the tom mount like the originals?

Especially since you say the Dunett kits are thinner shelled stainless. The weight of that 12x15 could be a problem. There is a video of Jason Bonham doing some rehearsing for the Zep reunion and I believe he is playing maybe a Dunett prototype "the tom looks smaller than 12x15 and it dosen't have Mach lugs" I think they sounded pretty good as did Jason.
