Is this a guy that is selling some new, unheard of cymbals out of W.Va.? I had a bid on a new, nice looking ride and hats and crash, had the top bids for a few days, then the a$$hole pulled the listing because they weren't getting the money he wanted. I communicated with him the ebay policy stating that was against the rules, especially for store owners, and he basically told me to go.....well, do unnatural things to my person. I filed a complaint against him, and ebay did the ebay thing...let it slide. At least I filed against him, and I suggest you do it as well.

You can pull a listing for any or no reason with more than 24 hours left on the auction, as far as I know.
I'm not 100% about stores, since I don't have one.
Yeah.... it's good to get it out though.
Sometimes I write the whole thing out, so I can at least look at it for awhile, and never hit submit........:)
Then I email Vintagemore2000, and give it to him !! Ha !
If it helps, you can email me anytime, my friend........

If the listing ends in 12 hours or less, they can't end it. If it has more than 12 hours, then the seller can cancel bids and end the listing. As a seller on ebay I look at it this way: Until the aution is over it is still my property and its my perogative to end the listing if I so desire BEFORE it reaches the last twelve hours. If I change my mind about selling it and I end it early, so be it. Its mine until money changes hands. People get upset over the stupidest things around here lately. Just because you are the high bidder doesn't mean you are the new owner of it yet...the auction has to run its course for that to happen....DOH

Yep, 12 hours, I was mistaken.
Ludwig I'll be quick...you're wrong. It's an auction site. Scenario for me this week was I was going to spend a grand on drum stuff. I bought a Radio King out of LA and wanted to get another kit. If I commit $750 on a kit and I'm waiting for an auction to play out there are other things I'm missing out on because I committed my money to the seller. I as a buyer don't have the right to just win three auctions then pick which one I want to pay for do I?
If a seller wants to test the waters, put a reserve, if he wants to sell for a certain amount put a buy it now, if you run with no reserve and no buy it now that is pretty much a straight forward auction. Other then that, put it in the Greensheet and go on with it.

Sorry, the one I had was a seller that was selling on a low reserve, and as such did not like the low bids, even though he had a low reserve set, and I reported him under pulling it to avoid the reserve fees. I feel the same way G-D does. I commited to it, and he puilled it, whether he likes it or not, And there were several others bidding on it as well. Just as everyone says "bid as much as you want to spend"....I hate shills, I hate snipers, and I hate wimps who end auctions early because they can't get more than an item is really worth, so they pull it. It is an auction, you set a low reserve, and it drew little attention....too bad. You made me tie up my time and resources, and I could have possibly picked up something else, but missed it because of your lame a$$? Why shouldn't I be ****y about it?
ebay has very specific rules for pulling an auction with a reserve price listed once bidding has started and/or reached the reserve. The seller can be forced to sell the item. It states so in the rules I read on the rules board.
This from the rules pages:
Sellers who list an item with a reserve price need to follow our reserve price guidelines.
A reserve price is the lowest price at which you’re willing to sell your item. The amount of your reserve price isn’t shown to your bidders, but they will see that your listing has a reserve price that has not been met. If you don’t want to sell your item below a certain price, you could make that amount your starting or Buy It Now price. You can also set a reserve price. If a bidder doesn’t meet your reserve price, you aren’t obligated to sell your item. Once the reserve price has been met, the reserve price message is no longer displayed in the listing.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
Elsewhere there is a penalty including the right of the highest bidder to ask for a forced sale.

I'm sorry but you are both wrong. That clearly only applies to the auction after the last 12 hours has been reached. If it wasn't true then why would ebay let sellers cancel bids and end the auction early with an option of "item no longer for sale"??
Yes, you are willing to commit your money, but again I state its not your item until the auction is over and an invoice has been sent and the item paid for. If your bid is cancelled and the auction ended early by the seller, the seller has a reason and it is no longer for sale and therefore is not yours. If you think you've been screwed, then don't bid on that sellers items in the future again. Sorry but thats the way I see it. A person does have the right to change their mind and they really don't need a reason, or need to explain themselves to any bidder on their items AS LONG AS IT WAS DONE BEFORE THE LAST 12 HOURS.
Well I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
GD
Just remember this, the next time you have someone decide not to buy an item you listed because they changed their mind, don't get mad or neg feedback them, it's their money and until it's in your hands, it's still theirs and they have the right to change their mind.
