In the bidding history no one except the winner bid after about $1477 ..... just bid after bid from the same person...

How is that possible, or what is going on ???

It's NOT worth that kind of money, trust me. Someone bid it way up and probably never intends to pay it. Only if it was Ringo's ACTUAL Jazzfestival would it be worth that....and I know it isn't because he still owns them and NEVER intends to part with them....I'm sure they're to be willed to Zak when its Ringo's time to join Jonn and George......

Maybe it was Pete Best's (lol)!Excited

After all, this one's an Oyster Blue Jazz Festival like he played in lieu of Ringo's Oyster Black.

I have an hypothesis. I believe the buyer has a software bidder and it malfunctioned ... or his ****ed off wife jumped on there for a bit of retribution ... or he's a jerk and wanted to urinate all over this seller ... or he's a collector and wanted to drive up the prices prior to selling his own BOP drums in a few weeks ... or he's the stupidest waste of gametes this side of the 62 Supreme Court Jesters.

The listing states that it was a reserve price auction.

Was $3000 possibly the reserve price and the winner just kept placing bids until he finally met the reserve?

Or, this is an insurance scam and the drum will be stolen in the near future after taking an insurance policy on it, and using the eBay sale as basis for its' worth ?

...ooooo didn't think of that one. the old drive the price up and buy the drum and collect on a false stolen property insurance scam. didn't see that one coming.

I'll agree with the bid up to the reserve theory....not so sure on the insurance scam thought though.....either way I'm pretty sure you'll see this relisted again due to non-payment....

AWESOME! I love it! That's what I want to happen to vintage drum pricing! Maybe none of us can afford that kind of price.....but someone can! And it only takes one person with the moolah! Absolutely LOVE it! YAY!!!!!

Guys...I totally agree with everything you all are saying. I just wanted to state my opinion that...we are living in the glory days of vintage gear. I am very new to the vintage market....but I believe the days of seeing drums for today's prices are nearing an end.

It seems to many people are doing the "flipping" thing.

They have no idea about the passion of playing these instruments and are probably bad drummers if they even play at all.

The trend is not only happening in vintage drums...but most quality vintage music gear is skyrocketing. has anyone tried to purchase an original Neve pre-amp, a vintage set of Coles microphones, or a 60's electric Gibson or Fender?

Stupid!

Thank You,
