Rogers is kicking butt in the "poll". Damn I need to test drive a vintage set I suppose.
If I was forced to decide - Slingerland. Problem is, your poll is for quality control and stuff like that. Very few of the companies had good qc. The ones that did are not necessarily the best sounding or hold the best hardware. So, it's kinda odd picking one of these.
I would say all of them But kent..But if i had to make a pick i would say from Ludwig,Camco,Gretsch,Rogers,Slingerland,Leedy. And let's not forget Sonor...Mikey
You mention Kent. Not synonomous with quality at all but i must say once you true up the edges, and you,re lucky to have found a decent made drum....LOOK OUT!!!.I have a kit,8 lug snare and kick, which i took for the first time to rehearsal, not expecting much mind you,but man,am i a believer now! These drums are truly a hit n miss thing but when you get lucky you will fall in love all over again...Watch out Gretsch!!Mind Blowi
