Opinions on what to do with my Ludwig Combo snare
I would gift it to Mr Mike C. It would make a sweet graphic for the appendix page of his next book.
OR
Display it in your home and use the pic as your avatar. You are the Ludwig Dude after all. How many other Ludwig afficianados own one of these babies?!

Hmm....I don't know about dropping that kinda coin on more unplayable drums...:)
That is a good question.....Hmmm
I would get that drum out of my life as fast as possible.
Remember that necklace Mia Farrow had in Rosemary's Baby? No doubt about it, that drum is satanic. :Santa:
That is the drum equivalent of a 1980 Chevrolet Citation.

Good ol' Citation...the bain of the 80s GM dealers....and made right here in OKC. The workers knew it was the biggest POS on the street, and did not care whether they ran or not. I know quite a few laid off GM people....the Citation is the first reason, the Malibu the last, for the company brass to decide this UMWA plant was beyond lack-luster in performance. They proved it with every car and SUV they built in this plant. Yep...good old union boys, worked themselves right out of a job because they knew they could build garbage and get away with it. Afterall, what can you do to them? You can't make them work, and you certainly can't fire them.....
"I enjoy restoring 60s Japanese "stencil" drums...I can actually afford them..."I rescue the worst of the old valueless drums for disadvantaged Children and gladly accept donations of parts, pieces and orphans, No cockroaches, please...

Hmmmm Satanic?? Not sure about that.....I would call it just a huge mistake Ludwig made, but i wouldn't go as far as satanic...LoLoLoLo
Well....I'll know by tonite if I am reshelling it for sure. I'm bidding on an acrolite shell and lugs.....if i win it, it gets re-shelled. If I'm outbid......it goes up for sale.

I don't know man... I've known a couple of people who have bought them and they just plain disappeared. Sure they found a few parts - an arm here, a leg there, but I wouldn't mess with it.
I wouldn't even throw it away because you can't.
You need to burn it.

jonnistix - cool info on the Citation. In 1980 I tried out a Pontiac Pheonix which was a gussied up Citation but no better. I actually liked it! But then I used to like Alpha Bits too! I even considered buying it but in an uncommon moment of clarity bought a Honda Accord instead. Whew! That was close! :)
Ok, official decision time.......its up for sale on Ebay as of about 5 minutes ago with the case and stand that came with it for no reserve. Highest bidder takes it.
(yes, I got outbid on the acrolite shell and lugs.....)
