Hey guys,
I just signed up for the forum. I've had interest in vintage stuff for a while but really the only stuff I owned were kind of rescues/player kits that I had refurbished. Within in the last month I have however purchased two snare drums that I really like. I have done a little research to see if they are all original but I figured here would be a good place to get your input on these drums.
The first is a 3x13 WFL. I have seen several similar drums online but I haven't seen one with this particular throwoff. I was wondering about an approx. year they used they throw offs? Also it looks like the hoops are nickel but I'm not so sure about the lugs. Is it possible they made drums with nickel hoops and chrome lugs?
The second drum is a Radio King that seems like it was a WWII era based on the badge. It looks original to me but I figured you guys might have some input. Specifically what the shell layup was during that time? Mahogany with maple re-rings?
Any info you guys have on these drums would be great. I look forward to hanging out on here and learning about vintage drums.
