The thrift store box of drums was a complete early 1959 Slingerland Windsor Ensemble. Just like a catalog picture except mine came with cymbals. Old K hi hats and A. Zildjian crash & ride. All 50's. All the drums are dated Jan 59. They started life as Aqua Sparkle but the bass & tom have faded. Other than new heads the kit is 100% original. Hard to believe that all the pieces stayed together for 51 years.(correction,it's missing the wood block) I don't think these drums were ever played much. I will say that being a newbie non drummer I never realized how much work was involved in disassembling & cleaning a set of drums. My hat's off to all you who do that on a regular basis. Thanks to this great forum another vintage set has been saved. Now they just need a drummer to play em!
59 Slingys, the rest of the box of drums
49 - WFL Ray McKinley - 26, 13, 16
58 - Slingerland Duco
58 - Slingerland Krupa Deluxe
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 20, 12, 14
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 22 (need), 13, 16
And some others..
Now he's gonna tell us he paid like $22.19 for the whole gig....
