Gorgeous kit, hawghunter! In high school, the drummer who won the local "Battle of the Bands" competition had this kit, and I envied it and him. I loved the Burgundy Sparkle and also Pink Champagne....and it wasn't until decades later - in retirement - that I found a Hollywood kit from that era in Pink Champagne, that was within a few hours driving distance! I got it! Better late than never to get your "dream kit!"

Indeed beautiful, kit and sweet photo. I'm guessing Camco stands. Yes Sir

I sure hope that isn't recent picture with those leaves on the ground. That would spell a very early fall season.

I've owned so many through the years. The last one I bought was this '67 Downbeat with a '65 jazz fest.

This thread is so long that I honestly can't remember whether I've already posted my '65/'66 Club Dates, but here they are (again?).

This was a rescue kit that I cobbled together. The 12" tom and 20" bass drum were originally red lacquer, and I bought them from someone who was using them to hold potted plants! The shells still had a bit of soil in them when they arrived in the mail. The 15" floor tom was a marching snare that someone had stripped for parts. None of the drums had rims or mounts, and the marching snare had no hardware at all. I replaced the missing hardware, wrapped everything in Black Diamond Pearl, and eventually found a consolette to mount the 12" tom. It's been my gigging kit for the last 13 years. It sounds gorgeous and it travels well.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)
