So I just dove into the vintage cymbal world today.
I purchased a Kashian 18" crash/ride cymbal. Condition is very good except for finger prints. It is from what the buyer said, a 1970's model, and I'm hoping it is a B20, but I'm not sure, although I believe they were B20's up until the 80's. He took an offer of $70, which I thought was fair for both of us, being that it's a bit of a mystery.
It weighs in at 1814 grams. It is stamped, Made in Italy and also Kashian Cymbal with an "R" underneath that looks like reserve, the r has a circle around it. There is also some kind of sloppily hand etched lettering and numbers, which kind of make me think these might be better cymbals. The etching is, "Calie and B1052028". Pretty cool, but I'm not at all sure what it means.
I'll have pics up when it arrives. But in general, good deal/bad deal? What do you think I have?
