So, it is with regret that i'm selling my Ludwig Big Beat Black Cortex kit.

I had acquired the kit for the McCartney tribute band i'm in, but it is now sitting in my closet since there are no potential upcoming gigs in the near future, and living in a condo, my space is limited. I don't feel like storing it in my storage locker because there is no temperature control (another annoying thing the real estate company "failed" to mention before i moved in !), and with Quebec winters, it's not good for the shells.

I'm not worried about finding another kit once gigs begin for 2018, but i will be searching for a modern kit (i know, i know..it's not vintage :( ) So with that being said, i have put the kit up for sale on my local classifieds. So far, i've got one guy who's really interested in the kit, but he can't buy my kit until he sells his, which is a 2011, 24-13-16 Classic Maple in Charcoal Shadow. He was looking for a kit with a smaller bass drum. He came to check out the kit in person and was impressed at the condition, and how i restored and cleaned the kit. Now it's all a matter of waiting. I have put the kit up for sale at $1200 CDN. I've also included the Atlas tom mount, a brand new Atlas Standard double tom holder purchased 3 weeks ago that cost me $120.00, and a new old stock Pearl heavy duty hi hat stand from the late 90's that had never been used until i bought it off the original owner.. I would like to sell the kit at a fair price, but i would also like to at least break even. I paid $1100 for the kit without the Atlas mount and double tom stand, and new drum heads. The guy who is interested in the kit thinks it's a fair price, but i'm not sure if i can wait for him to sell his kit. I've had no other offers. Now with the holiday season upon us, i understand that buying a $1200 kit may not be on some drummer's lists and selling it may take some time. So, is my price fair, or am i asking too much ? I checked Reverb.com and other internet sites, and my kit, both in 6 and 3 ply, are hovering around the $1200 USD range.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

Sounds like you have a good case for the price. If you're comfortable and the a buyer is comfortable... it's a fair price. :)

Not a Guru... just interested..

Hi Rob,

Agree with J!m, sounds like a fair price for what you are offering. Plus I know you do take really good care of your kit so I am sure the attention and restoration you did makes it a great kit. This time of year may be tough so close to Xmas. I heard the kit on your FB page with the Tribute band and it does have a great sound. Good luck my friend and of course Happy Holidays !

Michael

Hi Michael, Hope you're doing well my friend ! Thanks for your input as well. It's knowledgeable fellows like yourselves that make this forum so great. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed the music from the tribute band. There'll be more footage to come. The singer who plays McCartney is in the process of remixing audio from video taken from different gig footage and will be posting them in the new year.

Happy Holidays to you and yours as well buddy ! Party:Santa:
