Hi,

I'm looking for general opinions on these drums. I only have these two photos at the moment. I am considering buying this kit, with the likely intent of breaking it into two kits, and reselling one of them. I have a 4-hour drive to go see them, so am hoping I might get some general opinion on the kit's value, and if anyone sees any red flags in these photos.

I am told they are early 70's. I can see they have swiv-o-matic tom mounts, and the floor tom mounts look authentic. I am little disappointed in the concert-style upper toms, and may actually drill them and put resonant hardware and heads on them.

"Rogers Fullerton Double Bass Shell Pack – New England white wrap over American maple shells, circa 1972, 10” small tom, 12” small tom, 13” small tom, 14” small tom, 16” x 16” floor tom w/ legs, 18” x 16” floor tom w/ legs, 2 – 22” bass drums w/ 2 double tom mounts."

Any opinions?

I'm noticing now that the script logos look to be on different angles on the small toms... could be an illusion I suppose, but seems odd.

Yeah, the Script badges on the toms are not factory installed.

Re-wrap perhaps.

You know sir,.....It is a lot of time and money changing all those "Concert Toms"

to "Double Headed"

Bearing edges, Lugs, screws, rods, rims, heads etc.

Locating older Rogers parts can add up cost wise.

IMHO: I would wait for the right kit for you to come along.

If the drums are a real bargain, it might be worth the trip's cost in gasoline and time as well as the investment in time and money to convert the concert toms to double headed toms. Otherwise, skip it.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Given your intent to split it up, I'd say $800 would be OK - $400 per set-up. Not a lot of demand for those out there, so you have to be careful what you spend. I'm assuming the Dynasonic is part of the deal and that it is complete with snare frame and proper wires.

Yes. He's made offers with and without the dynasonic. I haven't seen the bottom of it yet, but at this point am assuming it is intact.
