DO NOT waste your time w/Capri Pearl Slingerland kit on LA CL Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

Hoping to save some VDF folks the gas/time/hassle of dealing with this clown who has this kit for sale on LA CL.

This kit is LOADED with issues: 8 major extra holes in bass drum from previous after market spurs (oh I did not see that), seam separation on BD, wrap lift on BD & FT, what appears to humps on the BD & FT, scratched up tom. When I showed up, over a foot of batter side inlay is missing even though I asked if it was all intact & WAS TOLD YES. This clown has posted new pics now so you can see the inlay missing & holes in BD ONLY if you look really close. NONE of it is mentioned in the ad. NONE of these were mentioned on the phone or emails. I asked WHAT ARE THE ISSUES? I was told a small hole in snare that was "professionally" repaired & a 2" crack in FT wrap. Well, that 2" split was almost a foot. This kit isn't even worth 800 imo. Who knows what other issues are hidden under the heads as I left in disgust & honestly wanted to punch his lights out as he knew I drove 2 hours to see this set. I should of listened to my gut instinct the guy was a flake since he gave me grief about asking for extra pictures of the set. I think he must like to waste peoples time as I bet I'm not the only one who went there with a pocket full of cash. This clown just played stupid when I called him out in person. Lesson learned. Just a heads up folks. Don't waste your time with this total flake.

In the future, let me know if you want something checked out in LA, before driving all the way up.

Those pictures are misleading if the issues you list are present.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Sorry to hear it Mark. That's a lot of driving to have nothing to come back with. Shame about the issues with the drums. That's such a great wrap in general. Something tells me you'll end up finding a nicer one that is more up your alley.

Thanks you guys. Thanks Greg for the offer as well.

Yes, it was quite a disgusting experience.

The fact that I ASKED several times on the phone and in emails is what really ****es me off. This joker wanted to sound like he knew what he was talking about on the phone but when I got there he played stupid. & that just does not fly with me. And the new pics he posted up don't even show the holes so I think this is the kit BEFORE the aftermarket spurs were added because he told me at first he had NO more pics, then suddenly I got some and fell for it. And I hope you are correct Mike!

The drive from San Diego to LA on a Sunday morning at 7 am after playing to 1 am is not what irks me. It's the lying.

It's a bait & trick ad. Well, I took care of that.

Sorry that happened to you.

Still a cool finish, and thanks to your examination and description, maybe

someone can pick them up for a more realistic price...warts and all.

I get the impression though that the seller isn't willing to deal.

I'm keeping all these positive vibes from you guys as a sign a really nice kit will surface in this wrap. And just a note, I'm not someone who would normally do something like this, but this guy KNEW I was coming up from SD to LA. And I asked too many times over several phone conversations: what are the issues? any holes? inlay? etc, like I always do with anybody I'm buying from.

I even said to him I need to know all problems as I don't want to get there to find any surprises & look what happens. I should have went with my gut feeling this guy was a flake when the hassle about more pics to me came up right off the bat. He says to me: "I knew you would find something wrong with this kit regardless" YA THINK?

He KNEW and he lied. I hope it never sells and this flake is stuck with it forever.

Regardless, thanks for all the kind words. Live & learn. AGAIN!
