KCDrumDad, just came across some info by DrCJW where he claims Slingerland did use a month, day, year stamp during the sixties.
Slingerland Date Stamps Last viewed: 4 minutes ago
Now that I am looking, I am finding several examples of the month, day, year type stamp. I looked through the DRCJW info quickly before posting but did not see anything. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of Slingerland.
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,

I also searched through the articles by Dr CJ and did not find this information. Regardless, it does appear that the Shelbyville team did stamp the shells as pictured. I was also mistaken in that the toms had air vents and badges. The Shelbyville operation closed down before 1967, which is when the vents and badges occured.

I will get the info to you, not in the articles.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Hi,
Has anyone ever seen these? This is likely an early 1970s floor tom that I recently purchased to match my bass drum. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks
Yes, I've seen a few of them, 5 ply shell sticker, with the 70's inside stamp.
OK. That's good to know! Thanks
