As you can see, the drums are tympani-shaped. I vaguely remember reading something about them years ago but that's it.

I'm sure somebody here knows what the heck they are :)

Not bass drum, but toms look might be molecule drums. Round shell with only tom head.

I looked at those & I'm pretty sure that's not it. At 1:45 in the vid you can see the hoops & the shells are more bowl-shaped...they kind of look like eggs :D

Also, the vid is from the 1970s, I don't think molecules was around then.

Yes....Those drums are by Molecule. just Google that name.
