Is that a vertical grain on the shells I see in the before pic? Or is it just a trick of the light? If so, then I think Gilnar might be onto something and they could be MIJ.
They do look great, by the way. Really nice work!

Funny you say that, I at first glance thought Rosewood Phonics. Then saw the lugs.

I'm not very familiar with Rosewood Phonics, not really being a Sonor guy, but I just Googled some pics and yeah, perhaps there's something in what you say, grain-wise at least. But the lugs do have a whiff of Star or Hoshino about them...

Yes that is a vertical grain.
Vertical Grain shells. Assuming the lugs are original, although I can not be 100% sure at this point. Here's a better pic of the lugs. The search goes on.
That's just gorgeous, nice choice on the wrap!
I am going to say those lugs are the first version of Ludwig Accent. And regardless of what the drums WERE, that is one hell of a nice looking set-
Wow ! Never seen a wrap like that from any drum wrap supplier.. Beautiful !
Yeah, vertical grain plus the lugs has me thinking MIJ...who knows. They look amazing...stunning, very good reso job. Would love to hear them.
Cheers.
