Inside of the shell looks good from the pics, I wouldn't worry about that. Have you played it,I bet it sounds pretty good. Not qualified to date it but I would think the date on the head would be pretty accurate if not older.

4i have a snare drum that matches this bd. i almost bid on it. congrats - nice drum. i'd say between 1927 and 1936 if indeed it matches my drum. mine is maple. sorry for the text here. im on my phone.

I will keep you in mind if I decide to sell the drum. As I said above you and I were almost bidding against one-another for your bass drum. I eyed it up a few times but in the end I didn't bid.......I have too many drums as it is. Well.......I guess your really can't have 'too many drums' huh ;) Congratulations on a very nice score there. Cheers!

ahh - yes - I see. Got your message but couldn't remember talking about this drum...found it by searching your posts. I'll copy this and make a word file and save it with my drum files so I'll see it more often. If I do decide to sell off some of my Gretsch drums I'll let you know. I have Gretsch snares in the following years: 20's, 30's, 40's, two 50's, a 60's, 70's, and some modern (in the 2000's) - no 80's or 90's.

I play my old Gretsch snares and haven't grown tired of them yet. However, I'm getting older (as we all do), and I may have to down-size before going into "the Facility" :)
