I bought this kit a few months ago, I can't decide what to do with it. I had never owned a Camco so I decided to fork out the cash to buy one. Now, after gigging with it, I'm not so impressed, not that's it doesn't sound ok, but I could had saved a bunch of cash and bought something that sounds as good or better. I got swept up in all the hype about Camco drums and now I'm regretting buying them. I suppose I could sell and get most of my cash back, but I'm not too keen on shipping and I doubt I could get what I payed if I sell them locally. Oh well.

well, what area are you in....
Mark Jeffs and the other guys at Rusty Drums seem like a decent lot, if you click on the "about" tab in the link below. Maybe they'll take em back with minimal loss to yourself, or maybe just re-list em for you on consignment...
Didn't you take advantage of being able to play them before purchase, or is it just that the kit doesn't fit the band[s] you're in?

I didn't buy them from them, the previous owner did and he shipped them to me, so I never actually played the kit before buying it. The kit sounds ok, just doesn't fit my style, I play a lot of jazz and I thought it would be a good fit. I was torn between the Camco and a RB Gretsch, should had bought the Gretsch. In any case, it's fine, I have a couple of other kits to choose from until I sell or trade these.

I won't insult you by asking if you've tried different tuning...and yeah, if you wait long enough they might just be worth more! Meanwhile I love listening to people play jazz! so if you have any links...
Mitch
Why would you buy such an expensive drum set without playing them first?
Thank you!

I think this happens all the time Jeff. I mean if they're being shipped, which is common...as I see it we rely on the reputation of the brand, and if the kit is in the condition you need, well then send it along thank you very much! :)
Mitch
Ya well people buy cars on ebay and I dont get that either, seems ignorant to me. Ya sure I have bought drums over the computer but were talking a couple hundred bucks is all.
Thank you!
