Reading through your post though I believe you are in the right. Mint means mint. No dings, dents, scuffs, scrapes, anything. I'll be honest, I've had a few instances where I neglected to mention a small issue with a drum. But I've never had a buyer ask for a refund, or ask to send an item back. And the one time where I felt it was big miss on my end I came to an arrangement with the buyer and made it right. You should be taken care of. You even offered to help return shipping ( as a serious gesture of politeness ) All I got from him was this " I wanted X amount for the drums and I did whatever I had to do to get it. Now that I have it, TS for the guy who has the drums " Especially when he says " mint to me " and the like.

Just took a look at the Reverb and yea, deceptive. Most of the batter side of the bass drum was left out of the shot to not show the pedal rash. When taking pics of drums to sell I show both front and back, inside and out. And even a few sides of each drum. Looks like those were set up to show them off as perfect.

I read both the original post and Reverb add and I didn't see the word "mint" anywhere. I saw "superb condition" and " new", but no mention of mint. The kit is used, it's not coming direct from Yamaha, if it were, you'd probably had paid twice what you paid. Is the kit worth $1,600? I would say yes, it definitely is. I honestly don't see any deception and you got a nice kit at a fair price.

this is the post I purchased the kit from at drumforum.org

I have a beautiful Yamaha Club Custom in Orange Swirl, no nicks, dings or scratches. I honestly thought there was something on the hoop but after close inspection, I had it wrong. There isn't even any rash on the hoop. Basically, the kit is dead mint and the heads have plenty of life. All mounting hardware included. Let's call it 2000 plus shipping. I'll have to buy a few boxes so I'd guess that'd be between 150-200, depending on where you are. Local Pick-Up Preferred. Email me directly at jacebart@uchicago.edu if seriously interested. Sorry no trades.

I'm going against the seller that is in no way Mint condition. I don't care if you paid one dollar for them, The seller went to great length to market them as minty fresh. They aren't. I hope you're able to resolve this issue repete.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I feel for you repete! One of my biggest complaints in a description is the use of the word "mint". Really chaps my hide how overused it is! To me, "mint" should be a factory fresh item, with absolutely NO signs of use or stress. I don't mind when I see "near-mint" as long as there is a good description and pictures to list it as such.

I really hope you can deal with the seller on this.

Fishy that he didn't use the word "mint" on Reverb but did use it on drumforum where there was no third party service to protect the buyer...

This is kinda wrong too - " I have a beautiful Yamaha Club Custom in Orange Swirl in absolutely beautiful condition. Basically, the kit is brand new and so the heads have plenty of life. " That was on Reverb. The kit is not " brand new ". I wouldn't call any kit brand new that was taken out of the box.

Another seller added to my do not deal with list . Sorry this happened and the seller is being such an ass about it ...

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..
