Which Year Is This Slingerland? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Can anyone ID the year of this Slingerland for me please?

Naturally the 809 may be a clue (or a diversion!), but I guess the Bass drum twin 599 cymbal holders may also help?

Thank you.

Nice kit! Would need a better picture a badge to narrow it down. Mid 60's may very well be date stamped on the insides of the shells.

Nothing special here but I like them.

The chrome setomatic came out in the early '70s. (The late '60s one was aluminum.)

A closer look at the badges and serial numbers would help greatly. The pattern of the wrap makes it look like a rewrap.

Thanks guys.

I assume the chrome setomatic would then tie it in with the tube legged 809 and Rocket stands?

Any closer idea on the date?

It has had a re-wrap. Not ever having seen an original Slingerland wrap, is this not a good re-wrap?

The available rewrap material has a very different look compared to the original.

Thank you, I can see that having found a good image of the original wrap.

That opens a can of worms I guess... :(

Yes, about 1977....did you look at the Slingerland serial number guide to figure that out?

Thank you and for the link which I hadn't seen.

I had based it on other kits I had seen that people had given a year of manufacture.

That will help a lot! :)

I need to get serial numbers and badge pictures for the first kit now. :)
