Just bought this Ludwig Standard kit

for a little more than I would normally pay but it appears to be in almost new condition and comes with the hardware that is in the picture. Before I say how much I spent, what do you guys think is a fair value? I have my entire collection for sale so I am now starting to re-stock.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I'd say $600-$800. Has the hardware, snare, looks to be in great shape.

Are your numbers based upon what you think the kit is actually worth, or what you would pay for it? I suppose I should have asked that. I always buy low, but went a bit above budget on this one for three reasons. 1.) I have always wanted but have never had a red sparkle kit, 2.) I regret selling my last Ludwig Standard kit. 3.) It appears to be in fantastic shape.

That's what I would personally feel comfortable paying.

It cost me $800 with shipping and tax. Higher than I like but the kits looks fantastic. $699 was the store price.

Nothing wrong with it that elbow grease and a little polish won't fix?

Seeing dozens of ratty Exports a day on CL with equally lovely stands and a pile of B8's to put on them trying to get what you paid for that, I think for $699 I'd be feelin' fiiiiiiine.

Wow I was $1 over. I would have lost on The Price is Right!

That was a good deal. Not a steal but a good investment.
